今日ウォーキングをするにはちょうど良い天気だった！

It was a really beautiful day today!  So I went for a long walk in the park near my house,  Kiba Park.  今日の天気はすごく良かったから僕の家の近くの木場公園で長くお散歩してました。

So…this blog`s key phrases are…

It was a great day for a long walk.☆　     (今日ウォーキングするにはちょうど良い天気でした。)

Kiba Park is a great place to go for a walk.　        (木場公園はウォーキングをするには絶好の場所だね。）

このパターンを使います・・・

It is/was a good/great day + for 名詞句/to 動詞

[場所] is a good/great place + for 名詞句/to 動詞

Here are some more examples…

It`s a great day to stay home and read a book.  (雨の日とかね)

Today was a great day for a barbeque.

Kyoto is a great place to go sightseeing.

Las Vegas is a great place for entertainment.

☆この「walk」は動詞の「walk」ではなく、「a long walk」の名詞句の名詞ですね。　だから「to」じゃなくて、「for」を使います。

I should`ve…

In English you can express regret (後悔) using…

I should + have + 過去分詞

For example…

I should`ve studied more. 　 (もっと勉強したらよかったのに・・・)

I`m sorry I made you worry.  I should`ve called.     (心配かけてごめんね。　電話したらよかったよね？！)

I should`ve taken medicine. 

否定文の場合は 「shouldn`t + have + 過去分詞」 を使います・・・

I shouldn`t have drunk so much.  (なんでそんなに飲んだんだろう・・・？! 　俺のバカ >_<) 

(Interestingly, “shouldn`t have” is pronounced like “shouldn`t of.”  ネイティブは “shouldn`t have” って言ったら “shouldn`t of“” に聞こえるんですよ。メールする時時々 “I shouldn`t of…”を書くし・・・本当は “shouldn`t of”　は合ってないけどね。　ネイティブも時々英語を間違えるよ!　But not me, of course, hehehe…^ _ -

友達や恋人を叱る時も使えます・・・

I`ve been waiting for over half an hour!  You should`ve called!  (３０分待ってたよ！　電話するべきだろ？！)

You should`ve remembered my birthday.  (私の誕生日覚えてるはずのに・・・)

Well,  that`s it for this week!  I`m really sleepy today and I should`ve gone to sleep earlier last night so it`s oyasumi time for me….

I gotta…

…go to sleep…(-。-;)。。。….

「gotta + 動詞」 はネイティブがよく使う 「have to + 動詞」 の省略です。　Here are some more examples….

I gotta go to work.     （会社に行かなきゃ）

I gotta go to the bathroom.*   (トイレに行かなきゃ)

I gotta eat something.    (なんか食べないと）

I gotta call my girlfriend.     (彼女に電話しなくちゃ)

But first…

I gotta find a girlfriend.     (彼女を見つけないと！へへへ^_ -)

And finally…

I gotta write a blog.     (ブログを書かなきゃいけない）   

*トイレって米語でだいたい “bathroom” って言うんです。

「何座？」 in English is…

What`s your sign?

「乙女座」 is…

“Virgo.”  文書で言うと “I`m a Virgo.”

日本では「何型？」ってよく聞くんですね？　でも、西洋人はあまり聞かないんですよ。　お医者さんぐらいかな？＾＾　でも、”What`s your sign?” はなんか「何型か」のアメリカンバージョンみたいだからちょっと練習しましょう！ So…one more time…

What`s your sign?

I`m an Aquarius/a Pisces/an Aries/a Taurus/a Gemini/a
Cancer/a Leo/a Virgo/a Libra/a Scorpio/a Sagittarius/a Capricorn.

（文書で言うと母音で始まる星座の前に「a」のかわりに「an」を付けます。）

写りが良い

「写りいい」 in English is “photogenic.”  簡単でしょう？

Please practice these sentences and questions…

Questions:

Are you photogenic?

Is Maki photogenic?

Are your children photogenic?

Negative sentences:  (否定文)

I`m not photogenic.     (私は写りが悪い)

He`s not photogenic.

Affirmative sentences: (肯定文)

All babies are photogenic.

Maki is really photogenic.     (♥Don`t you think?!  そう思わない?!♥ ＾＾見て→)
