Hi Everybody!
「この間」 in English is…
the other day.
It`s a very useful expression! And the other day we practiced, “When was the first time you + 過去形の文章?” “When was the first time you 何々?” is a great way to start a conversation. Well, here is another common question you can use to start a conversation:
When was the last time + 過去形の文章? もしこの間の質問を習得したらこの質問も簡単にマスター出来るでしょー!! Just change “first” to “last” and the meaning changes from 「はじめて何々したのはいつですか」 to 「*最後*に何々したのいつですか」。
Here are some examples…
Example Conversation 1:
Bob) When was the last time you studied English? (最後に英語を勉強したのはいつ?)
Hanako) Yesterday!
Example Conversation 2:
Bob) When was the last time you played tennis?
Hanako) I played tennis last Sunday.
Example Conversation 3:
Hanako) When was the last time you played poker?
Bob) The last time I played poker was when I was a few weeks ago.
Hanako) Where did you play?
Bob) In the Vegas room here at GENIE!
Hanako) Who won? (誰が買ったの?)
Bob) Of course I did!
↑↑ It`s a real conversation! ↑↑ And I hope you can come to Enjoy a Real English conversation and Enjoy Real English here with me on Saturdays in our ☆Fun and Free☆ Games Class.
