Hi everybody!
It`s getting cooler and cooler. But today a sweaty student came to my lesson so I asked him, “Why are you sweaty? It`s cool outside.” (どんどん涼しくなっているのに今日汗びっしょりの生徒さんが教室に入ってきました。 彼に「外は涼しいのになんで汗かいてるの」って聞きました。 He asked me, “How do you say 「走ってきた」 in English?” And I said…
I ran here.
Easy, isn`t it? And it`s useful, too, so please practice this simple and useful phrase! And if you are free tomorrow, Friday, Saturday or next week, why not come to GENIE and ENJOY ENGLISH with me or Jose or Roger (our new teacher)?! And…もしレッスンに遅れないように走ってくると・・・you can say…???
I ran here.
Yes! Good job! Well, that`s all for today. Catch you later!

Hi everybody ^ ^ /
Students and friends often ask me, “How do you say 「何々でも」 in English.” That`s a good question! So, today`s useful phrases are…

B) Anywhere is okay. (どこでもいいよ。)
Example ②
A) What do you wanna have for dinner? (ディナーは何がいいの?)
B) I`m not really hungry so…anything is okay. (あまりお腹すいてないから・・・何でも!)
Example ③
A) Would you like coffee or tea?
B) Either one is fine. (2つの選択がある場合は “either” を使います。)
Example ④
A) Would you like pasta, curry, or stew?
B) Hmmnn…I can`t decide, so any one is okay, I guess. (選択が3つ以上の場合は “any” を使いましょう。)
Well, that`s all for today! I hope you enjoyed this blog and I hope to ENJOY ENGLISH with someday soon here at GENIE!! If you would like to take a fun and free trial lesson you can come in the morning…in the afternoon…in the evening…anytime is okay! ^_ ~ Catch you later!

Hi everybody (^^) /
Today in my fun and free English-through-Games class a student asked me, “Do you have dislike food?” That question is quite strange and I knew she was thinking 「嫌いな食べ物ありますか?」. Well, in English there are no adjectives like 「嫌いな」 or 「好きな」 so you have to use a relative clause. 英語の場合は 「好きな」 と 「嫌いな」 のような形容詞がないから関係節を使わなきゃいけないんですよ。 So, how do you say 「嫌いな食べ物がありますか?」 ?? Just say…
Is there any food ☆ you don`t like? (Is there any 何々 + 関係節) Here are some more examples…
Is there any movie you hate?
Is there any animal you don`t like?
Is there any place in Tokyo that you don`t like? (東京でどこか嫌いな場所はありますか?)
Well, that`s all for today. I hope you all have a nice weekend. Catch you later!
Bob
☆ここに(関係節の前に関係代名詞の 「that」 を入れても良いし、入れなくても大丈夫だし。あっても無くても意味とニュアンスは変わりません。

Hi everybody(^-^)/
How was your three-day weekend? Mine was good! I got a lot of rest and worked out yesterday.
Well…今日のフレーズは三連休には全然関係ないんですけど今日のフレーズも役に立てると思いますよ。 とにかく、ネイティブはこの言い回しをよく使うので・・・練習しましょう!! ↓↓
It’s not a big deal. (大したことないよ。)
Here are some examples…
Example ① at home
A) Oh, sorry, I forgot to turn on the foyer light. (あ!ごめん!玄関の電気を付けるの忘れた。)
B) That’s okay, it’s no big deal. (いや!大したことないよ。)
Example ② – at a restaurant
Customer) Can I have some apple pie?
Waitress) I’m so sorry, we’re out of apple pie. (あっアップルパイは売り切れちゃったんですよ! 申し訳ございません。)
Customer) Oh, it’s no big deal. I’ll have cherry pie instead. (いや、大丈夫ですよ! チェリーパイにします!)
Example ③ At work
We had a good month last month. We got four new clients and lost only one client, 〇〇さん。 But that’s no big deal. He was a pain-in-the-neck customer, anyway. (先月調子が良かったです。 新しいお客さん4人も捕まえたし、辞めたお客さんの人数は1人だけでした。 それに、その辞めた人は面倒くさい客だったから別に大したことないし。)
Well, that`s all for today! I hope you enjoyed this blog and I hope to ENJOY ENGLISH with you someday soon here at ☆GENIE☆ Catch you later ^^ /

Hi everybody,
It`s Friday \ ^。^ / I`m glad the weekend is here. And I`m glad I can write this blog on a computer. Because…
My handwriting is messy. (字が汚い。)
In English we don`t say, “dirty” for handwriting. Also 「部屋ごちゃごちゃしてる」っていうのは・・・
My room is messy.
So “messy” is a very useful word and it`s not as negative as “dirty.” 「Dirty」ほどネガティブな意味じゃないし、「my letter is dirty」って通じないし。
For an example of messy handwriting please check out this picture →_→
What do you think? Is my handwriting messy?? How about you? Is your handwriting messy, too?
Well, that`s all for today! I hope you can read my handwriting. And I hope to ENJOY ENGLISH here with you soon someday at ☆GENIE☆!!
