Hi everybody!
There are two ways to say 「まだ」 in English, “yet” and “still,” so it`s a little confusing for many students. 混乱している生徒さんが多いみたいですから練習しましょう!
肯定文の場合は “still” + 現在進行形を使いましょう。 For example…
Itsuki is still sleeping. (イツキ君はまだ寝てる。)
Are you still working? (まだ仕事してるの?)
否定文の場合は現在完了形 + “yet” を使いましょう。 For example…
I haven`t eaten yet today. (今日まだ食べてない。)
He hasn`t called me yet. (彼からまだ電話来てない。)
I haven`t been there yet. (まだ行ったことない。)
Well, that`s all for today and that`s all for this week. Have a great weekend and catch you later (^。^)/

Hi everybody!
Here are some phrases that give many students trouble:
ask me
tell me
call me
日本語で「に」が入るから英語に直訳したら call to 誰々/tell to 誰々/call to 誰々って言ってしまう生徒さんが多いです。間違えやすいですね。 Just take out “to.” So, let`s practice…
Please call me. (電話して下さい。)
Please ask your mom. (お母さんに聞いて。)
I have to call my girlfriend. (彼女に電話しなきゃ。)
I told my boss. (上司に言った。)
Did you ask your boyfriend? (彼氏に聞いた?)
「Call to me/ask to me/told to my boss」 はジャパニーズイングリッシュです。 But in every case there is no “to.” “To” を抜くだけですね!
Well, that`s all for today! I hope you enjoyed this simple blog and I hope to Enjoy English with you someday soon here at ☆GENIE☆ Catch you later (^。^)/

Hi everybody! It was such a beautiful day yesterday! But tonight is really rainy….That`s too bad because I was thinking of taking a walk outside tonight but I don`t wanna walk in the rain so I`m just gonna go home and take a bath. So, anyway, how do you say 「何々をしようと思ってる」 in English? It`s easy! Just say…
I`m thinking about 動詞 + ing/I was thinking of 動詞 + ing For example…
I`m thinking about becoming a doctor. (医者になろうと思ってます。)
or…
I`m thinking about going to New York this summer. (今年の夏ニューヨークに行こうと思ってるんですけど。)
be動詞を過去形の “was” にしたら過去形の文章も作れます。 For example…
I was thinking of taking a walk tonight. (今夜お散歩に行こうと思ってたんだけど。)
“I was thinking of/about 動詞ing” を使う時だいたい “but” も入るんですよ。 For example, “…but I don`t wanna walk in the rain.”
Well, that`s all for today! I hope you are thinking about taking a free trial lesson here at GENIE someday soon and I hope you have a nice weekend! Catch you later (^。^)/

Hi everybody! Do you like food? Of course でしょ?! Me, too! I also like talking about food. Do you like talking about food, too? If so then this blog will be useful for you. Because here are some phrases about food…
Do you like talking about food? (食べ物について話すのが好きですか?)
Is there anything you can`t eat? (なにか食べられないものがありますか?)
hand-made pasta/hand-made gyouza (手作りパスタ・手作り餃子)
This looks delicious! (美味しそう!) (→_→)
夕飯は何々を食べたって言いたい時はこのパターンを使いましょう・・・
I had [食べ物] for dinner. For example…
I had Indian curry for dinner last night. (昨夜の夕飯はインドカレーでした。)
So what did you have for dinner last night? I hope you enjoyed your dinner last night and I hope you enjoy your dinner tonight, too! And, of course, I hope to Enjoy English with you here at ☆GENIE☆ someday soon! 体験レッスンは無料ですよ! 近くに美味しいインドカレーのレストランがありますし。 残念ながらカレーは無料じゃないですけどね・・・(-。-;)

Hi everybody and Happy Hanami!!
I hope you`re enjoying the weekend and enjoying the lovely spring here in Tokyo.
Well, here is today`s simple and useful phrase…
We get along well. (仲がいい。)
もう一人の方の名前を言う時はこのフレーズを使いましょう・・・
Jimi and I get along well. (いつももう一人の方の名前を最初に言って “and I” を使いましょうね。)
仲良くない時は? Just say…
We don`t get along well.
And here`s one more phrase…
Let`s be friends! (“Let`s get along well” とは言わないから 「仲良くしよう!」 って言いたい時はこのフレーズを使いましょう。)
Well, that`s all for today! I hope you get along well with your friends and families this weekend and I hope you enjoy drinking your beer and looking at the cherry blossoms in the park. You should say to the cherry blossoms, “Let`s be friends!” もちろん桜ちゃん達は返事しないけどきっと喜ぶと思いますよ (^。-) では・・・Catch you later!
